RedMere Appoints New Directors |

Balbriggan - 18 April, 2007: RedMere Technology Ltd., a leading multimedia networking fabless semiconductor company today announced the appointment of ex-Philips Semiconductor executive,
Ruud van der Linden as a non executive director to its board.Ruud, who is based in Taipei, is currently Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing and Director, Asia Pacific for Freecom Inc. He was previously Senior VP at Philips Semiconductor where he was responsible for the Display Solutions Business Unit worldwide. In addition Ruud served as VP Asia for Hitachi. With over 20 years experience of the semiconductor industry Ruud will focus on RedMere’s expanding market opportunities for the company’s HDMI chip technology in the Asia region.Commenting on the appointment Peter Smyth, CEO of RedMere said: “Ruud’s experience operating at the highest level in the Asian semiconductor market, including with our customers and channel partners, will strengthen our position in the Pacific Rim.”
In October RedMere Technology announced the closing of a US$8.2m first round of venture capital funding led by Celtic House Venture Partners. This was followed by an additional US$5m investment announced in April led by Edgestone Capital Partners. The company exhibited at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January and will be launching its expanded portfolio of HDMI products commencing Q2 2007.

Before joining Hitachi, Ruud was Senior VP at Philips Semiconductor where he was responsible for the Display Solutions Business Unit worldwide, located in Taiwan. There he was responsible for the total product value chain for products such as display drivers, decoders, encoders and video processing IC's. Ruud also spent almost 6 years as Senior VP Asia Pacific at Philips Semiconductor, running the complete marketing and sales operation for Philips Semiconductors in Asia (also located in Taiwan). Prior to that he was responsible for World Wide Marketing of Philips Semiconductor Logic IC's, based in Silicon Valley. Ruud started his career at Philips in the Netherlands in 1984 having roles in Sales, Automation, Production and Human Resource management. Following University Ruud worked as a teacher in Physics and Mathematics. He has Bachelor degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Nijmegen, and a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from the University of Enschede, both located in the Netherlands.
